Collectively, our associates have over 30 years of valuable land surveying experience. All of our associates have completed or are in the process of completing an Associate and/or Bachelor's degree program, and all Engineeringdegrees are from ABET accredited programs.
Matthew G. Bertsch, PLS, EI - Principal
Matt earned an Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology and received a Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering Technology at the Fort Wayne Campus of Purdue University. He has been involved in the study and practice of land surveying for the past eleven years. Matt received his registration number in 2002 after successfully completing the state exam for Professional Surveyors. He passed the Engineers in Training exam in April of 2006, and is currently working towards Professional Registration in Engineering.
Matt is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and served as President of the Northeast Chapter of the Indiana Society of Professional Land Surveyors for calendar year 2006.
Ross M. Frank, PLS - Principal
Ross earned an Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology and received a Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering Technology from the Fort Wayne campus of Purdue University. Ross has been involved in Land Surveying for nine years, and received his professional license in the spring of 2005 after successfully completing the state exam for Professional Surveyors.
In addition, Ross volunteered his time with other private surveyors in Feb. of 2003 in the search and rescue mission following the events of the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster in East Texas. Ross is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Indiana Society of Professional Surveyors.
Aaron J. Carl, SIT - Survey Crew Chief
Aaron is a 2006 Graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette with a Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying and GeoMatics Engineering. Aaron has seven years of surveying experience, including Auto Cad, boundary, topographical, and construction stakeout projects using GPS and Robotic technologies.
Aaron successfully completed the Surveyor-in-training exam in the spring of 2006, and is currently working towards his professional registration. Aaron is a member of the Northeast Chapter of the Indiana Society of Professional Land Surveyors.
Nick J. Bertsch – Survey Crew Chief
Nick is a 2001 Graduate of Purdue University in Fort Wayne with an Associates degree in Engineering Technology. Nick plans to pursue Land Surveying as a career, and is currently taking additional classes and working towards his professional registration.
Nick has four years of surveying experience including construction engineering, topographical, and boundary surveys using GPS and Robotic technologies. He is also a member of the Northeast chapter of the Indiana Society of Professional Land Surveyors.
Larry W. Owen, PE, PLS - Civil Designer
Larry has been involved in the Land Surveying and Engineering field for over 30 years. Larry began his career with a private practice offering Civil Engineering and Land Surveying. He was involved in boundary and topographical surveys as well as site planning and construction supervision. In 1980, Larry became the County Engineer for Adams County, Indiana. He assisted the county commissioners and highway supervisor as well as served as the deputy to the Adams County Surveyor specializing in the area of drainage. In addition to the work Larry performs for Bertsch-Frank & Associates, LLC, Larry also currently works as the Highway Engineer for Wells County, Indiana where his responsibilities include minor bridge, culvert, and road design and construction. He also serves as a consultant to other county offices including holding the position of deputy to the Wells County Surveyor specializing in drainage and corner perpetuation. Larry holds PE’s in Ohio, Kentucky, and Wisconsin in addition to his license in the state of Indiana.
Erik R. Vanderford – Project Manager
Erik is a 2006 Graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering Technology. Erik is currently taking additional classes and working towards professional registration as a Land Surveyor.
Erik has three years of professional experience and facilitates the successful completion of projects. He is proficient with the preparation of GPS machine control files using AutoCAD Land Development and Civil 3D software. He is also a member of the Northeast Chapter of the Indiana Society of Professional Land Surveyors.
Teresa J. Gibson – Office Manager
Terri is a 2000 Graduate of Indiana University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. Terri has six years of managerial and business experience and is responsible for the administration of contracts, billing, and client relations.
Stuart C. Eddy – Survey Field Technician
Stuart is a student at Purdue University – School of Engineering Technology at Fort Wayne where he is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering. Stuart has two years of surveying experience including construction stakeout, boundary, and topographical surveys using GPS and Robotic technologies.
Adam R. Framme – Survey Field Technician
Adam is a student at Purdue University – School of Engineering Technology at Fort Wayne where he is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering. Adam has been working as a field technician for one year, with experience in construction engineering, topographical, and boundary surveys using GPS and Robotic technologies. In addition, Adam is proficient in the use of Auto CAD software, and assists with the preparation of drawings.
