Fort Wayne, Indiana
Headwaters Junction & St. Mary’s Riverfront Project
Topographic and utility survey of 84 acres of land situated along the banks of the St. Mary’s River in downtown Fort Wayne. This survey serves as the central planning document for the City’s “Riverfront Development Project”. The scope of work includes nearly 10,000 L.F. of public street and approximately (250) storm and sanitary structures. In addition to traditional survey techniques, bathymetric survey data was collected along 1.25 miles of the submerged St. Mary’s River bed. The historic Ft. Wayne, Jackson, and Saginaw Railroad once parallel the northern bank of the St. Mary’s River. Bertsch-Frank invested considerable effort to retrace and document the location of the former railroad culminating in a Location Control Route Survey Plat of the entire corridor.
